Administrative Law Judge
Judge Chandler, received her appointment as an Administrative Law Judge with the District of Columbia Office of Administrative Hearings in March 2020. Judge Chandler has been a practicing attorney since 2000. Judge Chandler’s legal practice has focused on child abuse and neglect matters, child support, domestic violence, mental health and domestic relations.
Prior to joining the Office of Administrative Hearings, Judge Chandler served as the General Counsel for the Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA). As the chief legal advisor for the District’s child welfare agency she provided litigation support, supervised the development and implementation of legislation, policy, procedures and regulations. Judge Chandler also served in the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) for fifteen years in various roles. Her career at the OAG began in the Appellate Division when she was selected as an inaugural candidate for the Honors Program. She soon transitioned to the Child Protection Section (CPS), to serve as an Assistant Attorney General where she prosecuted hundreds of child abuse and neglect matters. In 2004, Judge Chandler was appointed to Chief of Child Protection Section IV where she supervised the litigation of termination of parental rights and adoption matters.
In 2006, Judge Chandler took her talents to the Child Support Services Division (CSSD) to serve as Chief of the Policy and Training Section. Soon thereafter, in May 2007, Judge Chandler was appointed Assistant Deputy Attorney General in CSSD where she chaired the DC Child Support Guideline Commission, conceptualized the CSSD Mobile Office Outreach Van and supervised community outreach events. Judge Chandler continued her practice in child welfare in 2011 when she was appointed Deputy Attorney General for the Family Services Division. During her tenure she had oversight of the four Child Protection Sections, the Domestic Violence Section and the Mental Health Section.
Judge Chandler is a native Washingtonian. She received her B.S. degree in Business Administration from Towson State University. She received her J.D. from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
