Administrative Law Judge
Judge Tannisha Bell received her appointment as Administrative Law Judge with the District of Columbia Office of Administrative Hearings in May 2018.
Judge Bell has been a practicing attorney since 2003. Prior to joining the Office of Administrative Hearings, Judge Bell served as the Assistant Deputy Attorney General of the District of Columbia Office of the Attorney General Child Support Services Division. Judge Bell also served as the Section Chief of the Crime Victim Services Section for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. In that role, she was responsible for administering the Crime Victim Compensation Fund for the State of Ohio, in addition to distributing millions of dollars in grant funding to victim service agencies.
Judge Bell is a native of Chesapeake, Virginia. She graduated from Virginia Tech where she earned a B.A. in Political Science and a M.S. in Sociology. She earned her Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. Judge Bell began her legal career as an Assistant City Prosecutor for the Columbus City Attorney’s Office in Columbus, Ohio. From there, she joined the D.C. Office of the Attorney General as a Trial Attorney.
