Once a case has been started, the Office of Administrative Hearings will mail you a Scheduling Order that sets the date and time of the hearing.
Please read the information in the Scheduling Order carefully as it will tell you how to prepare for the hearing and what information you may need to file before the day of the hearing.
All hearings take place at the Office of Administrative Hearings, 441 Fourth Street, NW, Suite 450N, which is reached through the North Lobby elevators. The building itself is above the Judiciary Square stop (“Courts” exit) on Metro’s Red Line. The D1, D3 and D6 Metro buses stop at the corner of Fourth and E Streets NW. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. There is very limited street parking available.
Allow yourself plenty of time to get to the building. As with all government buildings, you will have to show a picture ID and go through security. Plan to arrive at the Office of Administrative Hearings at least 15 minutes before the start time of your hearing.
Remember to: wear appropriate clothing, do not bring food or drinks, be respectful to other parties, and turn off your cell phones and other electronic devices before the start of the hearing.
