Administrative Law Judge

 

Judge Schwartz was appointed as an Administrative Law Judge for the District of Columbia Office of Administrative Hearings in October 2025.

Prior to her appointment, Judge Schwartz served as an Assistant General Counsel for the Metropolitan Police Department from 2022 through 2025. Prior to that position, she was an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia in the Personnel and Labor Relations Section.

Before joining the District of Columbia government, Judge Schwartz spent a little over 10 years in private practice as a member of the Counsel for Child Abuse and Neglect, and Guardian ad litem panels at the District of Columbia Superior Court. In that role, Judge Schwartz litigated family court matters at the District of Columbia Superior Court and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Judge Schwartz grew up outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She received her Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America, The Columbus School of Law, where she was a Moot Court Associate and participated in the Families and the Law Clinic.
