Administrative Law Judge
Judge Raj was appointed as an Administrative Law Judge for the District of Columbia Office of Administrative Hearings in October 2025. She grew up in Texas and has resided in Washington, D.C., since 2011.
Judge Raj received her B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas, her J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, and her Masters of Journalism from the University of Maryland. She is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia, Texas, and the United States Supreme Court. She was a member of the John Payton Leadership Academy with the D.C. Bar in 2024.
Judge Raj was previously an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia in the Neighborhood and Victim's Services Section. She won a Medal of Merit from the Metropolitan Police Department in 2015 for her work in nuisance property prosecution. She moved on to become the General Counsel for the crime lab and then for the D. C. Board of Ethics and Government Accountability. Here she represented the agency, gave ethics advice and training, and took part in enforcement. She also worked with other ethics professionals as an active member of the Council on Governmental Ethics Laws.
Prior to her appointment as an Administrative Law Judge, Judge Raj worked as a prosecutor for the Dallas County District Attorney's Office, prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases from intake and grand jury to sentencing.
