Allison Alvarado was appointed as an Administrative Law Judge in the District of Columbia Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) on June 21, 2022.
Judge Alvarado has more than 28 years of experience as a seasoned litigator, beginning her career as an Assistant State Attorney in the 11th Judicial Circuit in Miami, Florida. She then moved to the DC area and worked on large-scale, antitrust litigation as a contract attorney for Mobil and the Arnold & Porter law firm.
Next, Judge Alvarado served as a trial attorney for the DC Office of the Attorney General (formerly named the Office of the Corporation Counsel) in the civil litigation division and the Jordan & Keys law firm. Prior to joining OAH, she served as the principal member of a litigation law firm.
Judge Alvarado earned a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. She earned a J.D. degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where she served as Associate Editor of the Hastings Law Journal and summer law clerk to the Honorable James Ware in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
