Effective October 1, 2023, concealed carry pistol license denials and revocations issued by the Metropolitan Police Department may be appealed only to the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH). As of October 1, 2023, the Concealed Pistol Licensing Review Board (CPLRB) will no longer accept appeals and will cease adjudicating cases.
Any appeal or motion for reconsideration that was already pending before the CPLRB as of October 1, 2023, will be automatically transferred to OAH for adjudication and re-docketing in accordance with OAH’s procedures. No further action from litigants is needed. Litigants with appeals pending before the CLPRB as of October 1, 2023, will receive a notice of hearing from OAH once the transfer process is complete. Please be advised that during this transition, times for adjudicating pending and new appeals may be longer than usual.
Litigants wishing to file an appeal of a denial or revocation of a concealed pistol license issued on or after October 1, 2023, may do so using the OAH Form for that purpose.
