OAH has adopted Emergency Rules in order to modify OAH operations in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and in accordance with the Mayor’s Declarations of public emergency and public health emergency.
OAH Modified Operating Schedule
Date Released:
OAH is open on a modified operating schedule at least until June 8th and all employees still are teleworking. This requires that the agency prepare for and conduct REMOTE prioritized hearings for Public Benefits or Unemployment Insurance applicants/recipients where benefits have been denied or cut. These hearings recommenced the week of March 30, 2020.

The Hon. Elizabeth Figueroa has been sworn in as President of the National Association of the Administrative Law Judiciary (NAALJ) for the year 2019-2020. Judge Figueroa has been an administrative law judge at the Office of Administrative Hearings since 2006.

Code § 2-576(1), the District of Columbia Commission on Selection and Tenure of Administrative Law Judges of the Office of Administrative Hearings (Commission) hereby gives notice that it will meet to interview candidates for vacant administrative law judge positions. These interviews will be closed the public pursuant to D.C. Code § 2-575(b)(10) as they involve confidential personnel matters. The interviews will be conducted on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
